Nutrition Day ♫ 8:28 PM

Happy Nutrition Day, everyone! Hahah! Well, it's not a world-wide or nationwide thing... I don't think this day is city-wide either. Everyone probably celebrates Nutrition Month, and in our school, for one whole day in July, we celebrate Nutrition Day in the gym.

Every year, for most school activities, seniors plan it and supervise as well. One of our school's goals is Student Empowerment.

Anywayss... First thing this morning, we had practice in the gym while everyone assembled in their classrooms. And when everyone got to the gym, we started morning devotion and introduced 2 [for some, 3] new songs to the lower years.

Then for the first activity, we had a relay. A group of representatives from each batch [including the faculty members] had to complete certain... umm... tasks [?] in order to complete the relay. It was divided into 4 parts. First was egg toss. 4 people have to toss two eggs one at a time and get it to the 4th person.

Then once that was finished, they have to tag the next guy and that's where the calamansi pass. I think most of you guys know how this works, I'm too lazy to explain it. Hahah! :D

Then the next part is an apple eating contest. 4 representatives per batch have to eat an apple off a stick. The goal is for two people to finish their apple. But there's a catch. They're not allowed to touch the apple or the stick. :p

The last part of the relay was my favorite to watch! :D The eggplant thingy! :D there's this rope tied around the waist of a person with an eggplant hanging off a couple feet below. And without touching the eggplant or the rope, the person has to push a bottle using the eggplant towards the next person. And that goes through probably about 5 people until the finish line. Hahahah! ^w^

Then after that we had our Haustus [our school's term for recess]. And after that, Twinkle, Ino and I practiced a little backstage. Then after our break, that's when we danced.

The dance was the one we've been practicing for the past 2 days. And yesterday, we added this cute part where our arms are spread out and we rotate our hips real slow. Hahah! >w< We also added some of Angelica's Wu Shu Moves to the start of our dance. Hahah! :D

I got my sister to take a video but it wasn't that good since she used a really old digital camera. I'm not sure if the camera really didn't record sounds or if there was something wrong with it. But there sure wasn't any sounds in the video. And it wouldn't zoom in, so it was pretty far.

Soooo... I guess no video today. [= Although I asked Sonya to take a few shots of our dance using my camera. [I'm the one wearing bright green. You'll find me somewhere close to Chryzia, the girl in red on the right. :D]

The bad quality isn't Sonya's fault though.. Since my camera hasn't been functioning very well recently, the pictures are pretty blurry [putting the flash was pretty useless] and some were too bright, so I had to edit the sharpness and the brightness a little.

Here are a few shots. [= Click on them to get a bigger view since they're pretty hard to see 'cause they're all small and blurry... [=

Anyways, after our dance was the mascots. I don't have pictures of them though. Too bad. And I don't really know who won since I was in the screening for Gazette [School Newspaper] during the awarding ceremonies.

Then after that, we had Food Factor. It's kinda like Fear Factor except we just let them eat gross stuff. Hahahah! :)) The first thing they had to drink was a kind of shake thing that had ampalaya, okra, calamansi, and other things [I don't want to know] in it.

Then they had to eat mashed bananas, which looked yucky, but I guess it didn't taste bad at all. They just got it to look gross so the participants wouldn't dare touch it. Hahahah! :p

Then the last one was a sandwich with Balut and Ampalaya in it. Hahahah! Surprisingly, a lot of people liked it. Even the faculty representatives! hahahah! :D Which, by the way, was Sir anton and ma'am Jerrel. :D

After that was lunch I guess. Then after lunch, it was tug of war. It didn't push through, since the rope kept breaking. :))

Then there was the quiz bee. I joined since we lacked representatives. It was fun, everyone kept running to the same answer every time. All the seniors [except Jacob and Jaja], juniors and sophomores were eliminated later on. So two freshmen and two seniors were left. Jacob and Jaja just got lucky in the previous round though, so I guess it wasn't so surprising when a freshman won. :))

Then there was feed a batchmate! I wanted to join this, although I wasn't able to get a slot earlier. So I ended up just facilitating the game. It's a game that's played by pair and both people will be blindfolded. There will be a table in front of both people and the person at the back will act as the arms and hands of the person who's going to eat the food.

It's a pretty messy game, but there aren't any gross food involved, that's why I wanted to join. Hahaha! xD

Here's a picture I took, I have a few others, but this one's the best. It's a picture of the faculty representatives, Sir Dem and [a new sophomore teacher, I don't really know his name].

That's Sir Dem feeding the other teacher Oishi [a kind of junk food]. Although the first thing he had to feed him was oatmeal, which was way messier. Some of the participants had oatmeal all over their faces! Hahahah! xD

Some looked like they were about to cry coz their partner kept feeding them and feeding them endlessly, which I felt sorry for, but it's not like I could do anything, so in the end I just offered them a lot of tissue to wipe their face. Hahah! :D

And when I went over to where the teachers were, I heard Sir Dem shouting "Eat it! Come on! Eat it! Eat it!" and it's like he kept shoving handfulls of chips into the poor teacher's mouth. Hahahah! xD But they looked like they were having fun anyways. ^^

Then after that there was Pinoy Henyo where there's this word and the participant can't look at it. He has to ask questions to his batchmates and guess the word. I didn't really watch that since I was talking to Sonya backstage.

After that we went to Gazette Screening. We were supposed to go for feature writing. But we were only given one hour to write a news article, an editorial, a sports article, and a feature article. And we obviously couldn't do that, so we had to back out and we chose to either screen for photojournalism and layout artist. I obviously wasn't going to be able to do photo journalism because of my camera's sad state, so we both screened for layout artist instead.

There were only four of use who screened for layout artist [Me, Sonya, Twinkle and Rovie], but we knew only one person was going to be chosen, so we all tried our best, I guess. I finished at around 6 PM already. I didn't even notice that I was there for so long.

Anyways, I guess that's it. I'm going to get some sleep. ^^ Nightie, guys! ^^
